The new Insta360 X3 camera packs a lot of features into a pocket-sized package, with some updates that are sure to be of interest to social media creators. The camera goes on sale today at insta360.com and Amazon, and will start at $449.99.
“With the X series, we are reinventing the point-and-shoot camera to make it easier for anyone to be a creator,” Insta360 founder JK Liu said in a company press release. “X3 is built to help the next generation of creators take their creativity to new heights.”
The X3 comes with a brand-new 1/2-inch sensor and a 2.29-inch touchscreen. It’s capable of capturing 5.7K 360 video or 72MP images, but the options for capturing videos and images go well beyond those specs.
Users will be able to shoot 360-degree videos, but then later reframe portions of the video to fit the intended platforms. Insta360 claims that using its app will, for instance, allow people to turn a 4:5 Instagram video into a 9:16 TikTok video without any quality loss.
The new sensor makes Active HDR mode possible, which improves stabilization and detail richness. A dual-lens design makes it possible to incorporate an Invisible Selfie Stick feature, which automatically deletes the stick from the footage. MeMode incorporates the ISS function and allows users to shoot selfie videos at 60fps without any need to reframe.
Single-Lens mode is upgraded to 4K resolution and MaxView mode provides 170 degrees of view in 2.7K. The camera can capture 8K 360 time-lapse video and it also features a Bullet Time slow-mo feature that captures video in 4K 120fps or 3K 180fps.
A six-axis gyroscope makes FlowState stabilization possible, allowing the X3 to keep the horizon level even when the camera is completely rotated. It’s waterproof up to 33 feet (10 meters) out of the box and capable of even more depths with the addition of accessory lens guards.
Loop Recording gives users the option to use the X3 as a dashcam, offering continuous recording that only saves the final minutes according to user-set intervals.
There are only four buttons on the camera to help make operation simple. Direction Focus Audio automatically tunes in to the action on camera, even if it’s reframed. The X3 also comes with a new 1,800 mAh battery.
Used in conjunction with the Insta360 app, users will benefit from AI-powered features. Shot Lab comes equipped with more than 30 visual effects. Snap Wizard lets users reframe the video by simply moving their smartphone. Photo animations can be added using the Photo Animator tool; Deep Track 2.0 makes syncing up music to a video a breeze as well. If you want to get even more sophisticated during editing, Insta360 Studio will be available for desktop, offering more options to fine-tune footage.

KTM proves it has the next generation of riders and racers in mind with the addition of the new SX-E 3 electric motorcycle. Ideal for young riders, this bike is based on the beloved SX-E 5 but sports a lower power output, smaller wheels, and a lower and adjustable seat height.
For helpful tips and tricks for beginners, visit our Learning to Ride page.
The SX-E 3 features the same high-quality technology as the SX-E 5 but in a smaller package. Both models share the same permanent magnet electric motor, but the KTM SX-E 3 has a lower output of 3.8 kW. The 60 lithium-ion battery cells gives riders two hours of casual drive time and recharges from empty in 70 minutes. Recharging requires no more than plugging in to a 110- or 230-volt socket.
Upfront, 35mm non-adjustable WP XACT USD forks take care of the bumps, providing 5.7 inches of wheel travel. On the rear, a WP monoshock is mounted directly to the swingarm, offering 5.2 inches of travel, and is perfectly matched to the front fork.

Another feature that makes this motorcycle perfect for smaller riders is the low, adjustable seat height. Standard height is 23.6 inches, but the seat height can be lowered to 21.8 inches by lowering the bodywork/seat, mounting the rear shock in an alternative position, and lowering the front fork in the triple clamps. An adjustable seat height allows young aspiring riders to get comfortable on a bike from a younger age and develop skills that they would otherwise have to wait for.
KTM, in keeping with its dedication to providing the perfect motorcycle for young riders, has equipped the SX-E 3 with safety features also available in the SX-E 5. Perhaps the most important safety feature is the roll-over sensor which kills power to the motor when the motorcycle is tipped over. Another safety feature is the lockable ride modes panel. Riders can choose among six different ride modes with parents having the ability to lock the ride modes so riders can’t change modes mid-ride. These safety features along with zero emissions and a quieter, less intimidating noise than a gas-powered motorcycle make the SX-E 3 a true beginner’s bike.
The 2023 KTM SX-E 3 has an MSRP of $4,999, which is $500 less than the SX-E 5.

In a market where new top-tier ADV apparel can cost as much as your monthly rent or mortgage payment, the Fly Racing Terra Trek jacket and pants combo is the budget-conscious rider’s best friend. Ready for four seasons of riding, the Terra Trek’s Hydraguard breathable weatherproofing eliminates the need for bulky rain liners and provides added protection as a windbreaker. When the temperature drops, a removable thermal liner can be snapped into each garment to hold in body heat. On hot days, opening the waterproof zippers for the chest and leg vents brings in fresh air (a few more vents would help).
Fly Racing provides the standard treatment of CE Level 1 armor in the shoulders and elbows of the jacket. A foam back protector is provided, but we recommend upgrading to Fly’s Barricade CE Level 2 back protector ($39.95). Terra Trek pants have CE Level 1 armor in the knees, and there are pockets for optional CE Level 1 hip armor ($23.95).
Since it’s geared toward adventure riding, the Terra Trek duo has a casual cut — not too loose, not too tight, and all-day comfortable, thanks in part to the sweat-wicking mesh liner. There are several ways to fine-tune the fit of the jacket, snugging up the biceps with snaps and straps and tightening the waist adjuster. The pants feature adjustments at the waist and the calf area to accommodate bulky ADV/MX boots, and a sturdy 8-inch zipper connects the jacket to the pants. Storage is aplenty with three external pockets and several internal compartments on the jacket and two cargo pockets and zippered hip pockets on the pants.

Priced at $259.95 for the jacket and $239.95 for the pants, $499.90 gets you the whole enchilada.
The Terra Trek jacket is available in Black, Sand/Black, and High-Viz/Black, in sizes S-4XL. The pants are available in men’s sizes 30-40 in Black and Sand/Black. Tall sizes are available for both.

To honor the 30th anniversary of the brand’s first World Championship title, Aprilia has announced the limited-production RSV4 XTrenta, a top-spec track bike dripping with tech derived from the RS-GP MotoGP machine. Only 100 numbered units are planned for production. Pricing will start at almost $50,000. Buyers can book their machine by going to factoryworks.aprilia.com starting September 6, 2022.
The RSV4 engine has an increased compression ratio, a custom titanium and carbon exhaust system made by SC-Project, and a Sprint air filter. The water and oil radiators are superbike spec, and in total, the refinements will result in 230 available horsepower. A special Magneti Marelli unit will control engine function while Jetprime provides the electronics suite.
The Öhlins suspension setup was dialed by Andreani alongside Aprilia’s team of MotoGP engineers. The Brembo braking kit features GP4-MS billet Monoblock calipers and forged Marchesini M7R Genesi wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SBK slicks.
Bodywork gets the MotoGP treatment as well, with carbon fiber fairings developed with the support of PAN Compositi. These panels incorporate fresh wings, along with a new “underwing” design on the swingarm, which Aprilia claims is good for a 25 percent increase in aerodynamic load and a 4 percent reduction in drag.
The RSV4 XTrenta’s livery is modeled after the look of Lorenzo Savadori’s machine used in the Austrian GP. This look also honors the livery of the 1992 bike used in the 125cc MotoGP class.

The brilliant Australian track is a rider favourite. It has long been considered one of the jewels on the current calendar. Its series of long, flowing curves, taken in third and fourth gear are spread across 2.7 miles of glorious, undulating tarmac. Its proximity to the Bass Straight means it gives Mugello a run for its money in terms of the most spectacular setting of the year.

The 2022 BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental are great bikes once they get rolling, but they can be ponderous to maneuver at lower speeds – especially sharp turns – due to the stock handlebar’s 45-degree rearward sweep. Enter the Tour Commander bar from HeliBars.

The new Tour Commander bar is specifically for the R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental and is 1 inch wider than stock, with a more relaxed wrist angle (a 22-degree angle versus the stock 45 degree angle), providing more comfort and better steering leverage and control.
The bar can be rotated forward almost 6 inches above stock bar height for taller riders or mounted 3 inches closer for shorter riders. The bar is currently available in black powdercoat starting at $479.
