CFMoto goes electric with the 300GT-E

CFMoto 300GT-E

CFMoto has unveiled its first electric-powered motorcycle, laying the foundations for the company’s forthcoming electric sub-brand. The 300GT-E police motorcycle represents CFMoto’s first steps towards investing heavily in a sustainable future of internal combustion as well as renewable-energy vehicles.

Purpose-built to meet the demands of police departments across China’s mega cities, the 300GT-E features a vast array of technology including an efficient electric drivetrain, smart connectivity and rider safety.

At the heart of the 300GT-E is an efficient water-cooled power drive which, along with a high-density lithium battery cell, is mid-mounted for a low centre of gravity and excellent handling characteristics. Final drive is via toothed belt.

The 300GT-E has a maximum power output of 18 kW and a top speed of 120 km/h while the battery cell has a 150 km range under comprehensive riding conditions as well as fast-charge capabilities.

The CFMoto 300GT-E will be capable of 120 km/h and a real range of 150 km

Smart connectivity comprises the integrated car-grade onboard connectivity system made to accommodate police communications, thus interlinking with police databases. The 300GT-E also features support for cloud-based vehicle status and live location updates, built-in satellite navigation via a 7.0-inch TFT screen as well as keyless ignition – all of which are imperative to making daily police duties more convenient and comfortable.

Equipment highlights include three riding modes; Bosch ABS; a sidestand power cut; an inverted fork and monoshock; height-adjustable windscreen; 17-inch alloy wheels and distinctive LED lighting.

The 300GT-E complements CFMOTO’s recently launched 1250J police and state guest escort motorcycle, which debuted the company’s 140 hp / 120 Nm 1279 cc liquid-cooled V-twin derived from CFMoto’s joint venture with KTM, thus cementing it as the largest-capacity and most-powerful motorcycle in China.

“CFMOTO has a workforce of more than 2600 employees, 25 per cent, or one in four, of whom is assigned to research and development. Given the rapid rate of pace for the brand – and its recent R&D boost thanks to KTM – it makes sense that CFMOTO invests heavily in a future of sustainable, electric vehicles. Beyond its police lights and sirens, the 300GT-E represents the beginning of a standalone electric sub-brand for CFMOTO in the not-too-distant future.”

Aerostich Transit 3 Waterproof Leather

Waterproof leather? Seriously? Why not. Aerostich has been doing it for years, and now we’re told they’re doing it even better.

Aerostich Press Release:

Transit 3 Waterproof Leather Jacket & Pants

The fit, feel and supple comfort of leather riding gear with revolutionary technology: Fully waterproof and breathable all-weather leather riding gear. This next-generation Transit 3 jacket and pants offers all the functional details and features as the originals, but its 1.2mm perforated, waterproof, breathable, seam-sealed leather is now even more supple, comfortable and ready to ride. It’s still just as durable, and as tough, and as waterproof.

Key detail updates include a larger zippered pocket on the right forearm, waterproof underarm vent zips, a fold-away reflective cover over the dual-slider back vent, and near-full circumference (270º) pant-to-jacket zipper.

The micro-perforated breathable leather contains a new proprietary treatment to keep it from absorbing water, so it never gets heavy during long wet rides, and always dries quickly. Micro-perforations across the leather ensures that during high activity skin moisture will evaporate right through. You ride dry and comfortable through rain, fog or misty conditions, and are noticeably cooler under a hot sun compared to wearing traditional leathers.

The suit contains a complete set of carefully fitted yet easily removable TF armor systems — elbow, shoulder, knee, hip and back pads — which provide superior impact energy absorption with less movement restriction.

Jacket sizes 38–52 Short, Regular and Long. Pants sizes 30–44 waist, Short, Regular and Long. Imported. Complete details, customer reviews and more at www.aerostich.com or call 800 222 1994.

Electric Bike Manufacturer Delfast Reaches $2M in Sales in 2020

Electric Bikes for the Future

Based in Ukraine, Delfast has some of the most impressive e-bikes out there. These electric bikes are just short of being motorcycles and the company seems to be doing pretty well with them, having reached $2 million in sales in 2020.

Delfast recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Fundable with the goal of $3 million. The Fundable campaign’s plan is to help the company build a new research and development center that will help Delfast reach the increasing demand for high-quality e-bikes.

Delfast saw massive jumps in sales since the pandemic. There was a 405 percent increase in sales in Q2 when compared to Q1 and a 222 percent increase in sales over the last three months. In 2019, the company did $552,000 in sales, which is a pretty far cry from the $2 million it has done in 2020.

Distinguished Gents Move to May Ride

After the coronavirus forced the ninth annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to go virtual in September, the men’s health charity event will permanently move to May from next year.

The virtual event resulted in the number of participants and fundraising for the November Foundation being halved.
Organisers hope the shift to May for the northern hemisphere riding season will better suit riders and increase fund-raising opportunities.

“We know how important it is to physically connect with our community,” the organisers say in a press release.

“The group events of DGR are integral in celebrating together, so we’re taking a turn in 2021 and shaking things up to bring us together, sooner.”

Consequently, the 10th annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

“The new May date will open up the riding season for many of our dapper folks in the Northern Hemisphere, and those in the Southern Hemisphere will still be able to keep relatively dry and enjoy the day,” the organisers say.

“This is a significant change that has been decided on due to overwhelming feedback from our riders and volunteer hosts from around the world, based on the impact that the weather has had on the safety of our events in recent years.”

Delfast

Last year more than 115,000 motorcycles in 678 cities hit the roads to raise a record $US5.8m.

This year the event raised $US2.74m and attracted about 56,000 motorcyclists from 171 countries.

Still, the DGR has raised more than $US25m for men’s cancer research and mental health issues since it was founded by Mark Hawwa in Sydney in 2012.

Riders can pre-register for the 2021 event now at www.gentlemansride.com.

Match point Mir: can the resistance stage a final stand?

The Majorcan is now 37 points clear of the competition and he arrives into his final stand with that last box finally ticked: a premier class victory. Not only that, he ticked that box under likely the most pressure he’s had all year, not that anyone would have been able to tell. “People who can’t pay rent, that’s real pressure. This is my job,” is what Mir told the media after the race. Next time he faces them after the flag, it may well be as the first fresh face to win the title in seven years, the first Moto3™ Champion to become premier class Champion, and the first Suzuki rider to do it in two decades.
