The all-new electric mini-bike is unique in its dynamic styling, allowing young riders to feel like a member of the iconic Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew that dominated flat track in the 1950’s and have won every championship since their return to the sport in 2017. The bike’s telescopic front forks and mono-shock rear suspension provide a smooth, comfortable ride, while the bike’s rugged steel frame provides a durable structure for beginning riders. The eFTR Jr’s dual-disc brakes offer premium stopping power for increased control and rider confidence.

“Whether it was a father, mother, uncle or family friend, most motorcyclists have fond memories of the person that introduced them to riding, and that’s the spirit behind the eFTR Jr,” said Ross Clifford, Vice President of Parts, Garments, and Accessories at Indian Motorcycle. “We wanted our first youth offering to be electric to provide a safe, simplistic and clean form of motorcycling for children, all wrapped up in the signature look of the FTR750. The eFTR Jr can kickstart a lifetime of riding memories for the whole family.”

Working in tandem with Razor USA, Indian Motorcycle’s product development team designed the eFTR Jr around Razor’s trusted and proven electric powertrain. The eFTR Jr’s 36-volt rechargeable battery will run for 140 minutes in low mode at 10 mph and 65 minutes in high mode at 15 mph.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna has released an official update on MXGP team rider Arminas Jasikonis, who has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and placed in a medically-induced coma following Lombardia.

Currently hospitalised in Cremona, Italy, Jasikonis was seriously injured in moto two at round nine of the world championship yesterday.

As is routine procedure with injuries of this type, Jasikonis has been placed in a medically-induced coma in order to stabilise his situation. Due to the serious nature of injuries of this kind, he remains in a coma and is receiving ongoing specialist care.

“This is a very serious situation for Arminas and a very difficult time for his family and all involved in the team,” said Antti Pyrhonen, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing MXGP team manager. “After AJ was flown to hospital on Sunday night, he was placed in a medically-induced coma because of the trauma he suffered to his brain.

“Really, there is not much else to say at this time – this is the situation, a situation that is very serious and difficult for everyone, and now we have to wait and stay positive.

“He has the best medical care around him and we are in close contact with both the specialists at the hospital here in Italy, but also in Innsbruck, Austria. Thank you to everyone who has expressed their concerns and wishes AJ all the best.”

In a statement, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna thanked all medical staff that have assisted Jasikonis, as well as the numerous well-wishers both from within the MXGP paddock and the wider motorcycle community.

Quartararo and Barcelona: a love affair continued in 2020

A year later on the outskirts of the Catalan capital, after taking to MotoGP™ like a duck to water in 2019, Quartararo bagged his first premier class podium. Six more rostrums would follow the Catalan GP podium last season, before Quartararo finally pocketed his first MotoGP™ wins in Jerez to announce himself as a lead title contender this year. Everyone thought the Yamaha star would continue to fight for victories every week and make life incredibly difficult for other title hopefuls, but MotoGP™ isn’t that simple. The following five GPs didn’t exactly go to plan, however, the recent demons were banished on Sunday afternoon in Barcelona.

Amanda Zito Rode 8,000 Miles Around the United States

Follow the Story

Amanda Zito is the person behind the YouTube channel As The Magpie Flies. She recently completed an 8,000-mile trip from her home in Portland, Oregon, to the east coast of the U.S. and back again.

She recently posted part one of her journey to YouTube, and it’s an absolute must-watch experience.

She took her trip in August and encountered all sorts of things, including 111-degree heat. Along the way she hit some snafus and camped. She says “just gotta roll with the punches,” when she hits snags.

You can watch her go through some of the most impressive terrain and landscapes in all of North America. She also connects up with family in Montana and South Dakota.

The entire trip is an honest and impressive look at what it really takes to do a trip like this Zito is an inspiration and her skill with the camera is worth watching, too. As The Magpie Flies has been around awhile and she’s definitely improved her cinematography. This is a very good well-made look at the trip, and it’s certainly worth watching.

A Phoenix, Oregon, Man Saves KTM Motorcycles From a Fire

Save the KTMs

Scott Flick watched a fire engulf his Pheonix, Oregon, community (in the U.S), but the motorcyclist wasn’t about to let it take everything.

His home and neighbor’s home were completely burned. He watched as the flames engulfed D and S Harley, but when the fire spread to the nearby Oregon Motorcycle Adventures KTM dealership he couldn’t take it anymore and decided to do something to save those motorcycles.

Flick was able to break the door open to the dealership. Once it was open, he saved nine motorcycles from the flames before the building burned to the ground.

Flick is a reasonably well-known motorcyclist in the community.

“When they told me that a guy broke into the store and saved the motorcycles I had a really good idea of who it was,” OMA-KTM owner Jeff Moffett said.

It’s a true shame to see a community ravaged by fire like this but Flick is trying to stay positive despite the destruction it caused.

“You gotta focus on the little good there is because that’s all there is,” said Flick. You can read more about Flick and his efforts to save the KTM motorcycles by clicking here.

Čezeta Electric Scooter Company Is For Sale

Retro Style, Modern Technology, For Sale

The company Čezeta is a historical brand that’s well-known in certain circles. It had a real winner back in the 1950s. Today it makes electric scooters and is based in the Czech Republic. According to RideApart, the company is now for sale.

Would you want to own a well-known brand that is on the cutting edge of the electric scooter world? Čezeta could be your answer.

The CEO, Neil Eamonn Smith, recently released a statement that said he was seeking a company or investors to partner with so that Čezeta could continue operations. So, it’s not exactly a simple “for sale” situation, but if someone invests a lot of money or partners with the company, then they would likely own a majority stake in the business and more or less own it.

It’s unclear if COVID-19 contributed to this, but it seems possible. In his statement, Smith said over the last 12 months it has become clear that “the company cannot move forward without a new partner who has adequate resources.”

I, for one, hope Čezeta is able to find a buyer. I could see the scooter company doing big things, and the electric scooter scene is really just heating up. Things are going to get very interesting in the next decade or so.

Beaton able to overcome nerves in breakout MX2 moto win

Milestone achievement for Australian export in the world championship.

Australian international Jed Beaton was able to keep it together despite nerves rising on his way to a first moto win in the MX2 World Championship, reaching an important milestone at Mantova.

Beaton, 22, is in his fourth season of competing in Europe, including three in the MX2 category and overcoming a mixture of injuries in that time.

The MXGP of Lombardia marked Beaton’s second overall podium result in a row, improving from third at the Emilia Romagna round to second with 7-2 finishes on Sunday behind Rockstar Energy Husqvarna teammate Thomas Kjer Olsen.

“I can’t explain how happy I am to have won the second moto today,” Beaton commented. “I had a great start in race two and got into the lead early on lap three – I then had a clear track and just focussed on my lines.

“As the race wore on I got a little nervous, but kept it together. I did make a few mistakes but held on for the win. It’s been a tough year until this point and it’s all coming together now. The team have been great and I’m so happy and pleased for them, too. I’m looking forward to Wednesday now.”

Beaton is now sitting fourth in the current MX2 World Championship standings, 100 points outside of red plate-holder Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM) following the opening nine rounds of the season.
