CCM To Expand With New Key Investor Pitalia Capital

Britain-based Clews Competition Machines has just celebrated their 50th anniversary – and a key investor has popped out of the proverbial cake to secure a market expansion for the brand.

According to a report from MCN, the head of Pitalia Capital – a man by the name of Anil Pitalia – saw one of CCM’s iconic RAF Spitfires and fell head over heels for the build, eager to invest in the company’s goals.

The investment, an undisclosed amount, will help the English brand to serve the rampant demand for bikes across Europe and beyond – and CCM’s Head of Customer Operations John Drogan couldn’t be happier about the arrangement.

“This investment is beyond our wildest dreams and will allow us to do a lot of things we simply couldn’t before.”

“We are really excited about the next stage of our journey which will see a new ambition to take CCM into international markets,” adds CCM Director Austin Clews.

According to the statement, CCM plans on expanding into key markets, and perhaps also modernizing their current lineup of scramblers, flat trackers and bobbers. The company has also made arrangements to bring on 14 new staff members to make everything possible.

CCM: Hollywood’s New Favorite Celebrates Golden Jubilee With Two New Bikes

The past four years have been very generous to CCM.

Since the release of the CCM Spitfire in 2017, the company has seen a huge jump in success (When Hollywood action films like Black Widow and Infinite are riding your bikes, it stands to reason there’d be a perk here and there).

Now, with the company’s 50th anniversary, we have been graced with two new editions to the showroom – both of the motorcycles are new members of the Spitfire family and ready to hit the road.

According to a report from MCN, the two bikes are a Street Tracker and a Street Moto. Both bikes will have the trademark 600cc single of the Spitfire, with the weight sitting like a feather at less than 150kg (330lb) and the power potential for 55bhp and 43lb/ft of torque.

The Tracker will feature 19-inch wheels, while the Moto will have a set of 17-inch Avon Ultra 3D. Both bikes will also have a full list of nostalgia, complete with number boards, blacked-out components, radiator guards, and a new cowl with carbon infills, a semi-perforated double ribbed saddle, and mid-position scrambler bars.

The two editions will come in four available colors and will sell for the neat price of £10,995 OTR.

The bikes will also see some dirt time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (GFS), where Dougie Lampkin – 12-time world trials champion – will purportedly be performing a wheelie up a hill on one of these beauties.

Stay tuned for the updates, as I expect the new GFS reveal of the cherry-red limited edition made by CCM in collaboration with Red Bull will sell for a pretty penny.

All CCM Owners Given Free Entry To CCM’s Great Golden Jubilee Scramble

Clews Competition Machines (CCM) is celebrating their 50th year in business – and this year, they are hosting a wave of bike events in honor of the half-century mark.

According to a report from MCN, CCM has been in business since 1971 and was founded by scrambles rider Alan Clews.

Clews Competition Machines did as their name suggested in the early days of the company, competing at the most distinguished levels of road racing, motocross, and trials.

CCM Bikes affiliated with the company's 50th anniversary

By the ’90s, CCM was putting more effort into the production of adventure bikes and dirt bikes (examples being the R30 SuperMoto and the GP450 adventure bike).

Their biggest contribution to motorcycle, though, was the Spitfire.

CCM's Spitfire - the bike that inspired a wave of new bikes with stylish features, and a penchant for panache.

With only 150 ever made, the 600cc single-cylinder four-stroke beauty launched in 2018, inspiring a new wave of cafe racers, bobbers, scramblers, and even some flat-track revisions – endorsed by giants of the motorcycle world such as World SuperBike Champion Carl “Foggy” Fogarty, and Trials World Champion Douglas “Dougie” Lampkin.

This year, the company plans on celebrating the rich heritage of their bikes properly – and they will be kicking everything off with two CCM-themed tours of the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales on June 23 and 25.

CCM has also released the installation of a Golden Jubilee Scramble. The event will be held June 27,  at the Westmoreland County Showground, with the promise of CCM races and classic bike lineups.

The guest list will feature Bob Wright, Vic Allan, Jimmy Aird, Perry Leask, and Steve Tonkin – all big names and lovers of CCM bikes, and according to the report, anybody with ownership of a CCM bike will receive free entry to the event.

CCM Marketing Manager John Drogan

CCM Marketing Manager John Drogan says, “CCM are planning a number of celebratory events when guidelines allow and we’ll be sharing these in the coming weeks”.

He adds: “There are a host of new machines ready to be revealed throughout the golden anniversary year, too.”

Looking forward to the exciting reveal of a new lineup. Maybe the CCM modified scrambler being used in Marvel’s Black Widow has a few extra surprises under the hood…
