Binder: “I don’t think it’s ever going to sink in”
“And you know, I was just waiting because I thought the last three laps, someone was going to come because my pace dropped so hectic, but obviously everyone’s did. So I just pushed so hard in the last three laps, I think it was the cleanest three laps I’ve ever done. Incredible. What a day. My team gave me such an amazing bike, my bike worked so good I can’t even explain, it was actually surprising me today. Hats off to my team, they’ve worked so well this weekend. We didn’t start very well but we got the bike to an amazing place and we won our first Grand Prix together.”

Bourne strikes back in a Race 2 duel at Donington
Claridge struck back to start the final lap in first, however, and the race was on for Bourne to make up a little ground and plan his final assault. Tucked in the slipstream, the number 17 bided his time and stayed stuck to the back of the machine ahead, menacing and looking for a way round the outside. Ultimately though it would come down to the final chicane, with Bourne shooting up the inside in the final braking zone and pitching it to perfection, able to stay ahead to the line for his first win of the year.

Binder and KTM: on top of the MotoGP™ world in Brno
There may have been heartbreak for one orange bike, but up the road, Binder wasn’t showing any signs of slowing up. With Binder past Quartararo, another Petronas Yamaha bike was about to feel the wrath. The 33 reeled in Morbidelli with ease and with nine laps left in Brno, Binder led a MotoGP™ race for the first time – but you wouldn’t have thought it. Immediately, Binder started to stride clear of Morbidelli and on the same lap, Zarco took the long lap penalty. And the Frenchman couldn’t have nailed it better, some spectacular riding saw Zarco sweep round the outside of Turn 7 like his tyres were glued to the asphalt. An unreal and pinpoint piece of riding saw Zarco emerge just ahead of Quartararo as the latter clear hit tyre troubles at the mid-point, with Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Tech3) starting to hunt him in.

Bastianini goes back-to-back in Moto2™ with Brno win
The Italian’s pace at the front was simply too much for the vast majority of the grid to live with as gaps started to produce all of the leading contenders: Bastianini 0.9 seconds clear of Lowes, whilst Lowes was now a second clear of Roberts, who himself had managed to dispose of Martin. Despite the top three breaking clear, the fight for fourth place was beginning to hot up with Spanish Grand Prix winner Luca Marini (SKY Racing Team VR46) coming through from tenth on the grid to sit at the front of a five rider gaggle also including teammate Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46), Augusto Fernandez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS), Jorge Navarro (MB Conveyors Speed Up) and Martin.

Katalis EV.1000 – New Indo-French electric motorcycle project

This is not the first time we have showcased one of these independent builds marketed by TheArsenale, a company founded by Frenchman Patrice Meignan that market themselves as ‘the ultimate marketplace for the independent builders and the most innovative studios in the mobility sector and all its forms.’
Anyway, it basically seems as though TheArsenale is an on-line shopping marketplace for engineering oddities for people that have taken way too much acid but somehow still have a shitload of money to spend on some pretty random machinery. They have a significant footprint to the well-heeled Chinese market via an outlet in Macau.
Their partner this time around is an automotive brand and design studio based in Jakarta, Katalis Company, who in collaboration with the French automotive gallery have launched an electric motorcycle with a vintage inspired design. That’s their words but we reckon it has a somewhat steampunk sort of bent, that does have some appeal…
The motorcycle called Katalis EV.1000 TheArsenale special edition, is the newer edition of its predecessor, Katalis EV.500 which was released in April 2020.
According to the Head of Strategy of Katalis, Joseph Sinaga, “Initially, we were asked by TheArsenale to display the Katalis EV.500 in their gallery in the City of Dreams, Macau. However after some discussions, we both decided to collaborate in creating a new design, the one and only of its kind in the world.”
The EV.1000 is characterized by its dominantly black matte colour, wrapped with an orange striped ornament. “The colour is derived from TheArsenale’s brand guidelines, which we hold as reference in the visual design of the Katalis EV.1000,” explains Principal Designer of Katalis, Julian Palapa.
Julian, who has a background in architecture further explains, a motor with a capacity of 1000 watts is installed in the motorcycle, supported by a 48V 45Ah battery. This motorcycle is also supported by a controller with a power of 48-72 Volt.
“Basically, this motorcycle can be accelerated up to 70-80 kilometres per hour, and can travel around 90 kilometres with one battery charge,” adds Julian.

This studio produced the overall frame and swing-arm of the motorcycle from a new material made from aluminium series 6061. “With a design which combines the nostalgic military design of the past with electric technology of the future, we feel that an electric motorcycle with a metal body is quite rare,” explains Julian.
Joseph Sinaga adds, “Katalis EV.1000 is a blueprint of a vehicle of the future. From the visual and positioning of the product, we are trying to appeal to the younger generation to start a new habit of using electric vehicles which are more environmentally friendly.” He also hopes, through the EV.1000 Indonesia’s younger generation will be inspired to create more products which can enter the international market.”
Established in early 2020, Katalis currently focuses on the development of product design in mobility, technology and the creation of brand strategy and communication.
Located in Jakarta, Katalis currently owns a main studio in Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, fabrication and assembling partner with Garuda Motorsport in Cibubur and Frontwheel MC in Bogor.

Foggia produces phenomenal ride for maiden Moto3™ win
With seven laps to go, the top 10 riders were 2.5 clear of 11th place Darryn Binder (CIP Green Power). Foggia was still leading from compatriot Tony Arbolino (Rivacold Snipers Team), with Masia and McPhee now ahead of Arenas in third and fourth. Just behind the leading five, ready to pounce at any moment, were Ogura, Fernandez, Niccolo Antonelli (SIC58 Squadra Corse), Jeremy Alcoba (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) and Romano Fenati (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) – it was anyone’s to win with five to go.

Pol Espargaro heads Yamaha trio in MotoGP™ Warm Up
It really is going to be a race of attrition at the Czech GP as the last handful of laps will be a journey into the unknown for the premier class. How will those rear tyres hold up? What pace will be set at the front and what sort of attack can the likes of Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) mount from P14 and P18 on the grid? And let’s not forget the leading Ducati on the grid – Johann Zarco (Esponsorama Racing). The Frenchman will be hoping he can stay at the front for as long as possible, but that’s going to be far from an easy task.

Lowes fastest on Sunday morning
Sam Lowes (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) has topped Moto2™ morning Warm Up at the Monster Energy Czech Republic Grand Prix, a 2:02.921 was enough to edge out second fastest Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46) by 0.023, with Remy Gardner (Onexox TKKR SAG Team) 0.031 off in third place.
