2016 saw Ferrari move onto bigger machinery as he took on the Superbike class in the CIV, and he finished the season an impressive third overall, also having become a race winner in his first season. In 2017 he was again a podium finisher and ended the season in fourth, before 2018 saw a step forward as he made eight visits to the rostrum, two of which were wins, and was runner up to great friend Michele Pirro. Ferrari has also made appearances in the FIM STK1000 Cup on home turf at Imola and Misano, taking good hauls of points in every appearance – and even a win last season at Imola.
