For the lightweight and intermediate classes, the test is in pure daylight as they race earlier than MotoGP™, with track time alternating between Moto3™ and Moto2™ sessions. Rodrigo, who left Jerez early on Day 3 already satisfied with his programme, set a 2:05.593 in session three to top the timesheets in Qatar, a whopping 0.350 clear of Arenas. Ogura, whilst also fast, was the first man outside the half second bracket.
Headlights are expensive, headlight guards from AltRider aren’t. AltRider offers headlight guards for most modern ADV and scrambler models, including the Honda Africa Twin, BMW R 1250 GS and F 750/850 GS, Triumph Tiger 800/1200 and Ducati Scrambler. Stainless steel mesh guards come in silver or black finishes, and both they and the polycarbonate clear guards mount securely with fasteners, not straps, with quick and easy removal for cleaning.

Rins ended the Qatar Test third on the timesheets after showing strong pace in Malaysia too. Despite not wanting to think about a title tilt just yet, the 24-year-old has a quiet belief he might have to wait just over seven days for his third career victory: “I feel strong for the race weekend, so I can’t wait until Friday. I’m feeling confident, if not for the Championship, then for the first race because I like to go race by race. I think we made a step forward compared to last year on the rhythm and the consistency, so let’s start racing and see where we are.”
The bike set-up was quite similar to the recent test but I did not feel as good today and we did not make too many changes. We concentrated on testing both the new option tyre that Pirelli brought and the standard tyre we had at the tests. Both have different feelings, some positive some negative. So we need to look a bit deeper at why the feeling was not so good and there is clearly a lack of grip compared to the tests. Tomorrow morning, depending on the grip level, hopefully there will be a lot more rubber down from the support classes, and the track will be a little bit different. It is always a difficult one when you have a lot of rain. But I feel we are not so far away.
