Admitting Broken Hill’s extremely dusty and windy conditions made for a ‘sketchy’ race last weekend, Daniel Milner believes the diverse New South Wales stop is good for the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).

The KTM Enduro Racing Team rider once again excelled in the brutal cross-country encounter, taking out top honours in the E2 category while finishing runner-up in the unofficial outright times.

“It was a good weekend, especially because of how dry it’s been in the area,” Milner explained. “They haven’t even had any rain since last year when we were there, so it was really dry and difficult. It was a sketchy race, I’d say, and it’s so different to every other round but I think it’s good to have a desert race in the Australian championship.

“It took some time for me to get going, but I picked the pace up as the race went on and was able to get to second outright and first in class, so we were happy with that for the round.”

Milner so far has perfect win record in the E2 category as the series now heads to Coonalpyn in South Australia on 31 August-1 September.
