Rabat and Motoxracing Yamaha split after five rounds of 2025

Tito Rabat has departed from the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team outfit following the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship’s visit to Czechia. Rabat joined the team for 2025 as part of an expanded two-rider effort, alongside Bahattin Sofuoglu, but he and the team have now decided to split ways after five rounds, with Rabat scoring three points during his time on the Independent squad’s Yamaha R1.

A statement from the team said: “In agreement with rider Tito Rabat, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team announces its decision to rescind its contract with said rider. Despite the great efforts of both team and rider, the results have unfortunately failed to materialise. Hence, the decision to part ways, to allow both parties to pursue their respective goals. The Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team thanks Tito Rabat for his professionalism and wishes him the very best of luck for the future.”

Rabat’s experience in motorcycle racing, including several part-time campaigns in WorldSBK, made him seem like the ideal partner alongside rookie Sofuoglu as the Turkish star learnt his trade in World Superbike. However, Sofuoglu has out-scored Rabat by nine points to three across the 15 races held this season, scoring points on five occasions compared to Rabat’s two. The team was Rabat’s third in WorldSBK, after Barni Ducati and Puccetti Kawasaki, when they were an Independent squad, while it was also the third manufacturer he’d ridden for.
