Bourne turns the screw with Race 1 win at Snetterton

Franco Bourne (Franco Bourne Racing/SP125 Racing) has done it again, taking an impressive win in Race 2 at Snetterton to really turn the screw and increase his lead. The number 17 escaped the clutches of Eddie O’Shea (WAM), Charlie Farrer (Victoria House Racing Academy/Mortimer Racing) and Harvey Claridge (City Lifting/SP125 Racing) to take a commanding win, but that three-way fight went right down to the wire. O’Shea emerged ahead for second – his first podium – and moved up to second overall, with Farrer completing the podium for a second rostrum of the season so far.

Ducati to confirm factory rider “before Misano”

“Yeah as you know there is another Moto2 rider that is of interest to us, but we cannot mention at the moment, but for sure, both Enea and Luca are doing well,” commented Ciabatti. “We are considering the possibility of another Moto2 rider joining Ducati for the coming season. I think again we will probably make a decision in the coming weeks and the target is to make an announcement just before Misano so that then the rider line-up for Ducati 2021 will be clear.”

However, Canet was on a charge. The number 44 slammed in a 1:28.787 to lay down the gauntlet to his rivals. Martin responded shortly after but he was two tenths adrift in second place, with Remy Gardner (Onexox TKKR SAG Team) going P4.

Marc Marquez ruled out for “two to three months”

Zarco and Petrucci into Q2 as Rossi crashes late on

The Italian’s late lap saw him grab the final place inside Q2 at the expense of impressive rookie Iker Lecuona (Red Bull KTM Tech 3). The Spaniard will line-up on the fifth row of the grid for Sunday’s Grand Prix of Styria by fellow KTM man Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), who crashed out, unhurt, at Turn 9 late in the session whilst pushing hard for a top two spot.

Nakagami fastest from Mir in FP4

The session was incredibly tight once more as we got a preview of how Sunday’s race might play out. The top seven were split by 0.266, with 18th fastest Iker Lecuona (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) just 0.9 adrift of top spot. Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) set the same time to finish P4 and P5 ahead of qualifying.

Rodrigo steals late Moto3™ pole after Masia Q1 drama

The Spaniard crashed on his final lap of Q1, a session he eventually topped, and proceeded to ride his bike back to pitlane without his gloves and front faring with a leakage spraying fluid all over the track. Both Davide Pizzoli (BOE Skull Rider Facile Energy) and Andrea Migno (SKY Racing Team VR46) both crashed on the fluid, fortunately without injury, and a major clean-up operation got underway. Last weekend’s podium finisher was consequently banned from riding in Q2 and had to settle for 18th on the grid.
