With Guevara having already secured the lightweight class crown, eyes will be on Garcia and Foggia, who are split by just two points in the battle for second in the Championship. A notable outside the provisional Q2 cut-off is Tatsuki Suzuki (Leopard Racing) in 17th, while Scott Ogden (VisionTrack Racing Team) was declared fit after a crash at Phillip Island last weekend and was classified 19th in FP1 in Sepang.
